Taft - City of Iran

Taft has more than 3000 years old which located on Shirkooh alluvial fan, near by Yazd . this city had got 56603 population in 1996, with 9.6 person in square kilometer density.This population is a combination of Moslems and Zoroastrian.Taft has 5771.123 square meters area and tow main fragmens, the north one which called Garmsir and the south one which called Sardsir. The centre of city is Shah-Valee square that belong to Sfavid and Qajar periods.

Taft is Garden city that the most famous one is Namir Garden with a typical Persian garden style.This garden has a pool with 95 fountains. Pomegranate trees is a usual view in this city but the most wonderful Cypress of Cham village located by this city with more than 3000 years old in zoroastrians, fire temple. Taft has an underground water channels which call Qanat. This water corridors started from Farshah vally in west side of Taft with more than 30km long.Taft is desert city but with mild winter and cooler summers than Yazd.
