Hofn - City of Iceland
Höfn í Hornafirði is an Icelandic fishery town in the southeastern part of the country. The population was 1783 in 2004. Trips are offered to the nearby Vatnajökull glacier. A cultural highlight of the town is the annual Humarhátíð held in late June or early July though today that festival is more or less like "drink'n fun festival". Höfn Airport is located here. Eagle Air carries passengers to and from Höfn. All flights are within the country.
Nearby areas are Suðursveit, Öræfasveit, Lón, Mýrar and Nes. In Nes is a small village called Nesjahverfi. Schools in Höfn were Nesjaskóli, located in Nesjahverfi, Hafnarskóli and Heppuskóli. Now the three schools have been united in to one school called Grunnskóli Hornafjarðar.
