Montrouis - City of Haiti

Montrouis is a coastal town in western Haïti. It is Montrouis is also one of the most important beach tourism destinations in Haiti, with several well renowned hotels and resorts, including le Moulin-sur-Mer. The town is located on the Cotes des Arcadins, one of Haiti's longest stretches of pure white sand beaches. It is also an exceptional place for sailing and fishing.

Montrouis is some 90 nautical miles south east from Le Mole Saint Nicolas making the trip about a ten hour crossing. The weather was on the very calm side, making the Windward Passage between Cuba and Haiti a very calm one, so we ended up having to motor sailed the entire way as the wind and seas stayed incredibly calm throughout the day. The scenery was one to take your breath away with endless rolling mountains as we sailed along. After we where settled in we went ashore too meet up with our awaiting friends, as to share a great Creole dinner before heading back aboard for some greatly needed rest.
