Serrekunda is the largest population mass in The Gambia. There is one main st which is littered with bars, restaurants and shops. Venture of the maindrag and you will find some interestinf little markets, places where the locals shop, so good prices...avoid the meat market though, especially if its a hot day or you have a weak stomach.
Serrekunda is known for its market, its silk cotton tree and its wrestling arena. The town's suburbs include Kanifing, Latrikunda, Sukuta and London Corner, and the town flows into the seaside resorts of Bakau, Fajara and Kotu.
